Nominating CHURCH NOMINATION COMMITTEE
The Nomination Committee seeks to serve the Lord as it looks for church members to fill the positions of Deacon and Elder. The committee meets in late October or early November as it prayerfully considers suggested names. These members are contacted and then presented at the annual meeting in January for approval. The committee consist of two (2) members designated by and from Session (one of whom shall be designated Chair by Session), one (1) member designated by and from the Board of Deacons, and no others currently serving on these boards, the Representative of the Sunday School or his/her appointee, the Moderator of Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian Church or her appointee, and four (4) members of the congregation-at-large elected at the Annual Meeting of the Congregation. The Pastor shall be a member ex-officio. The Nomination Committee shall serve for a period of one (1) year. Please feel free to pass on suggested names to any committee member.
